Geometry and Topology Seminar——Decomposability in the rational homology cobordism group

Abstract: An interesting question asks which rational homology 3-spheres bound rational homology 4-balls. We will survey a few results and provide a nontrivial filtration of the rational homology cobordism group. Then we will introduce the notion of primary decomposition and prove the rational homology cobordism group is not decomposable.
