p-adic Galois representation has played a essential role in the theory of modularity, which proved Fermat\'s Last Theorem. In this talk, we introduce some basic ideas of p-adic Galois representations and the theory of modularity. In particular, we discuss the limits of semi-stable Galois representations and prove a conjecture of Fontaine.
