I will review some results in the qualitative homogenization theory of Hamilton-Jacobi equations: the classical theory in the periodic setting, the stochastic homogenization theory with convex Hamiltonian, and some recent results. Then I will discuss some new trends of the research in homogenization theory, namely quantitive homogenization, (enhanced) uniform estimates and inverse homogenization.
